Christmas 2009!
Well it finally arrived for my kids and came way to fast for Brian and I. For the last 4 or 5 years we have made a tradition to go over to Brian's cousin's house on Christmas Eve,we let the kids play, we eat dinner and then read the Christmas story from the Bible while the kids set out the nativity It has been such a fun tradition and we of course take a picture of all the kids sitting in front of the tree. It's been fun to see how our families have grown over the last few years. I think it will be funny to see pictures of them when they are teenagers when we make them sit in front of the tree as always to get their picture taken and see how enthusiastic their faces are then.
Now on to the big day I made the dumb mistake to save all my wrapping till the night before so I didn't get to bed till 4:00am DUMB! I know and I will never do that again. Mylei and Lauryn got up first and we told them they had to wait in their room till Emery woke up (and so mom and dad could get a couple of minutes more of sleep) It was only about 20 more min. until she woke up. Then they hurried and rushed downstairs and was in heaven for the next 30 min. opening gifts and then the rest of the day playing of course.
Here is Mylei opening her school teacher kit.
Lauryn opening one of her Leapster games.
Emery opening her Tag Junior.
The aftermath! That Evening we went to Brian's sister Carries for dinner and so the girls could play with cousins and open more gifts. The next day My brother's and their families, and my mom came over for dinner, we ate, the kids played more gift opening for the kids and then was able to look at some fun photo's my mom brought from Chicago of her dad and his family. On Sunday afternoon we went to my dad's had lunch the kids played with cousin's,and more gift opening. We made sure to make a point with our children that they are very blessed to be able to go to so many people's house's that love them, and give them gifts when there are so many people in the world that have nothing and that will probably never ever have a Christmas present. I am sure they got sick of us telling them that but I want to make sure they undertstood how blessed they are and never forget. They probably don't understand right now as most children won't but hopefully one day they will. All in all it was a wonderful Christamas Holiday and we are so very blessed to be able to have family that love us and we love them even though we may crazy we still are family.
